In preparation for the group coaching session that is taking place on 10 December 2024 from 11:00am to 12:30pm
Going through life without goals is like getting in your car and driving aimlessly expecting to arrive at your destination without a clue how to get there. If you had a roadmap or a GPS, you could have gotten there in a reasonable amount of time but because you just drove and drove β maybe you will eventually get there but at what cost?
Moving through life without a roadmap and expecting to reach certain milestones haphazardly is certainly one way to go but if you want to get somewhere quickly and with less energy and time, then set goals, work towards them and you will find yourself exactly where you wanted to be.
Yes, I get it: you might be saying: "Well Lynette, you make it sound so easy, where in fact this goal-setting thing is not easy at all - it's a process - it takes time, not to mention finding the means and having the answers to all the 'how to' questions ..."
Let me share this story: As my sister and I grew up, I always remembered how passionately my sister would talk about what she wanted to become one day. I guess I always admired her for knowing this so clearly, even from as old as 5 years of age. Today she is living that dream.
Do you also know people, who had such a clear understanding about their pathway to success - everything planned and envisioned?
Just stay with me here: I fully support the fact that being aware of one's dream very early in life, does come with its fair share of challenges, bridges, life's let-downs, etc. People, in general, do eventually end up with what they envisioned right from the start - and some don't. So why?
For others (like me), that picture of a dream, a purpose, an idea or goal does not come easy. It takes time to nurture that desire and dream. It means that we then need to experience life to get a clearer vision: adjust plans, re-think, re-consider, upskill, re-skill, having a mentor or life-coach, etc.
What do you think about your unique goal achievement plans: were they very clear to you right from the start, or was it a journey of discovery (or still is)?Β
I hope you will enjoy this lesson, as I unpack:
